2020 Students Program: Best Practices for Hiring Managers

Students are the next generation of public sector employees. Providing students with a meaningful work experience supports organizational succession planning. The key is to harness their energy, innovative ideas and education to tackle the issues facing Canadians, now and into the future. The students, in turn, gain the skills and experience they need to be part of public service renewal.

Offered in collaboration with the National Managers' Community and the Public Service Commission of Canada, this session is for hiring managers seeking information on:

  • the student hiring programs available to them
  • the challenges and best practices in hiring students

By onboarding students who are working remotely and ensuring that their work experiences are meaningful, we are ensuring the future of the public service.
