Director, Innovator's Experience Branch, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada
Monica is the Director of Platform in the Innovator's Experience Branch within Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED). The branch's mandate is to connect innovators and entrepreneurs with government support to help them grow their businesses.
Monica leads a team of product owners, researchers, analysts and designers that work on digital tools to support her sector.
One of these tools is the Business Benefits Finder, a government-wide digital service that helps innovators, entrepreneurs, and business leaders quickly and easily find the right programs and services to help their businesses start, grow and reach new markets.
Another tool is the Innovation Canada Client Relationship Management system (CRM) used to manage the sector's various programs, such as the Accelerated Growth Service (AGS) and the Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF). Monica is leading the design of the system to allow for data sharing to improve reporting and client experience.
Monica has over 25 years of experience in user-centred web application design. She is passionate about finding solutions that use data and technology to improve Canadians' experience interacting with government.
