Evaluators Workshops

Evaluators Workshops

Across the Government of Canada, the evaluation of program outcomes is an important element of program management as it helps departments determine the relevance and performance of their programs and identify more efficient ways to deliver them and achieve better results.

In collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Evaluation (CEE), the School is hosting two one-day workshops which will explore how evaluators can apply the concepts of theory-based evaluation and analytical approaches to assess program resource utilization.

Scoping and Assessing Program Resource Utilization when Evaluating Federal Programs

In order to ensure that evaluations are able to provide an evidence-based, neutral assessment of the value for money, it is important that evaluations assess not only a program's relevance and results achievement, but also the resources utilized by the program.

The workshop complements the CEE's guidance document on assessing program resource utilization and will focus on how assessments of program resource utilization can be scoped and approached using concrete examples.
