The accelerator community, though dispersed, is growing and driving innovation worldwide. While their meaning, impact and value have yet to be fully realized, accelerators are a valuable asset.
Though accelerators have largely been associated with start-ups and the private sector, the public service is tapping into their benefits and seeing positive results. There are a variety of accelerators that offer short-term programs that provide hands-on learning experiences with mentorship and coaching, to promote growth and develop new skills. They are opening up new opportunities for governments and businesses to innovate, disrupt, transform and build support, relationships and networks, as well as bolster economic growth and prosperity.
