Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence

Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence banner

The Government of Canada's AI Strategy for the Federal Public Service 2025-2027 encourages training and talent development as a way to ensure that AI systems within the federal public service are secure, ethical and responsibly used.

May 25 to 29, 2026

The Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence provides all public servants at all levels with a focused week-long opportunity to deepen their understanding of AI. Learners are encouraged to explore new AI tools and their practical applications, while also preparing for the leadership and culture shifts needed to support the responsible adoption of AI through insightful live events, interactive virtual-led sessions, and other informative self-paced learning tools.

Why a learning week?

The public service is being challenged to think differently, embrace uncertainty and move quickly. Meeting this moment requires deliberately reshaping our culture to have greater focus, simplify processes and instill greater accountability and inclusivity.

The Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence is meant to drive public service-wide momentum on actioning the corporate priorities set out by the Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet. These corporate priorities emphasize the need to simplify internal processes, including by leveraging artificial intelligence and other digital solutions, to improve productivity and effectiveness.

This learning week also supports the Government's ambition on AI and the objectives of the AI Strategy for the Federal Public Service.

This special week serves to:

  • benchmark existing AI knowledge and skills
  • bring awareness to how AI is shaping and will shape the work of federal public servants
  • promote a culture where public servants are encouraged and supported to continually enhance their skills
  • offer insights into how AI will impact all areas of public service operations, from policy development to program design and delivery, to service delivery to Canadians, to back-office internal services
Who is this week for?

The Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence is for all public servants at all levels, and encourages flexible participation based on individual operational realities and learning needs throughout the week.

All public servants across the country are invited to participate.
