The Moose Hide Campaign
Join us for a special event to learn about an important grassroots movement, its upcoming national gathering and how you can support its work towards a safer future.
The Moose Hide Campaign was created as a way for Indigenous and non-Indigenous men and boys to stand up against violence towards women and children. More than 1,200 Indigenous women and girls have been murdered or gone missing in Canada since 1980. On average, a woman in Canada is killed in a domestic homicide every five days.
For non-Indigenous Canadians, supporting the Moose Hide Campaign is also an act of reconciliation that supports Canada's implementation of both the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action.
Come find out what others are doing across the federal public service and how to participate in the annual Moose Hide Campaign National Gathering and Day of Fasting on October 18 in Ottawa.
