Description
Space exploration captures our imagination. It also inspires us to be bold. Engineers and scientists have long pursued remarkable space innovations that have helped transform our daily lives on earth—think of satellites and robot-assisted surgery—while enabling people to survive in the harsh environment of space.
Many countries, including the United States, Russia, India, China and Japan, are pursuing ambitious space exploration agendas. Some of this exploration may lead to broad security and economic gains. In other cases, the scientific discoveries will help us advance understanding of our physical world and result in innovations that improve the lives of citizens.
Join us for the next event in the CSPS Virtual Café Series featuring Lindy Elkins-Tanton, Principal Investigator for NASA's Psyche mission, and Sarah Gallagher, Science Advisor to the President of the Canadian Space Agency, for a discussion about why space exploration really matters. The speakers will discuss such questions as: how does space ambition contribute to useful innovation, greater prosperity and better security and what can space research and development teach us about fostering innovation here on earth?
