Daryell Nowlan is a seasoned federal executive known for shaping policy, building strong teams, and advancing economic growth. Over a 32-year career with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, he served as Vice-President (ADM) Policy, Programs & Communications and as Acting Deputy during key transition periods. He served as chair of the APEX board of directors and as departmental champion for V&E, Mental Health, and the Pride network.
In addition to his public-service leadership, Daryell has spent over 30 years coaching athletes at the national and international levels and currently serves as a National Coach with Curling Canada. His coaching experience informs a collaborative, people-first leadership style grounded in performance, resilience, and continuous learning.
As a Distinguished Fellow with the Canada School of Public Service, he shares insights on leadership, regional engagement, and developing high-performing teams across sectors.
