Paula Isaak is a retired public servant who served for 35 years in a variety of positions focused on Indigenous and Northern issues. Most recently, she was the deputy minister and president of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency and the associate deputy minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs.
Paula developed a passion for Indigenous and Northern issues early in her career, which she pursued living and working coast to coast to coast, including in the National Capital Region, Quebec, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, the Yukon and Nunavut. She worked in domains such as negotiation of land claim and self-government agreements, management of natural resources and the environment, intergovernmental relations, management of education and social programs, and economic development.
Paula has a degree in Political Science from the University of Manitoba and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Carleton University.
