Official Languages Learning Path

The Government of Canada is committed to fostering a bilingual public service that reflects and respects Canada's official languages. This learning path offers learning resources that help public servants work in both official languages and uphold language rights in service delivery, workplace communication, and decision-making across the federal public service.

The Canada School of Public Service offers learning opportunities to help public servants understand the Official Languages Act, fulfill their language responsibilities and obligations, and prepare for second language evaluations. The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) is responsible for the Qualification standards in relation to second official language and supports second official language training and skill maintenance for all federal public servants. The Public Service Commission is responsible for administering second language evaluation proficiency tests.
