Data Rules and Tools Series: Simplifying Data Strategies and Systems
April 14, 2026, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (ET). Hosted by the GC Data Community, this first event in the series will focus on simplifying the data strategies and systems needed to build trust and to support the responsible adoption of AI‑enabled and other digital tools. The event will also include best practices for the public service for improving interoperability and informing decision-making with trusted data in an evolving digital environment.

A Public Servant’s Voice, with the Honourable Jocelyne Bourgon

From the Canada School of Public Service: This special event will place a spotlight on A Public Servant’s Voice, the new book by the Honourable Jocelyne Bourgon, first woman Clerk of the Privy Council and former Head of the Public Service of Canada. Part memoir and part guide, Madame Bourgon's newest book offers a history lesson in the life of the Public Service of Canada, captured through personal experiences and recounted from a perspective that is highly relevant to public servants searching for what lies ahead.
50 Years of Federal Leadership on Gender Equality: Progress, Lessons, and the Work Ahead

From the Canada School of Public Service: Both a commemoration and a call to action, this event will recognize the vital role of the federal public service in driving and sustaining long-term progress towards gender equality amid evolving political and social contexts. The event will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of Status of Women Canada by reflecting on five decades of leadership, key milestones achieved, measurable impacts delivered, and the gaps that remain.
Innovation and Adaptation in Leadership Series: Leading with Agility and Innovation

GC Data Conference 2026 Fireside Chat: Navigating AI and Data Sovereignty, Stewardship and Trust (Rebroadcast)
April 21, 2026, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (ET). From the Canada School of Public Service: Hosted by the GC Data Community, this fireside chat with Nick Frosst, co-founder of Cohere, Abdi Aidid, assistant professor of law at the University of Toronto and visiting scholar at the Canada School of Public Service and Bailey Kacsmar, assistant professor at the University of Alberta and fellow with the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute, explores the current and future opportunities and challenges of AI while examining themes and implications for sovereignty, stewardship and trust.
Canadian Research Data Network and Canadian Public Policy Webinar
April 23, 2026, 1:00 pm (ET). From CRDCN and Canadian Public Policy: The tenth collaborative session to highlight policy-related research work in CPP that makes use of confidential or restricted microdata.This webinar will focus on two research papers: "The Role of Complementary Capabilities in AI Adoption and Productivity: Firm-Level Evidence from Canada" by Jiang Beryl Li (ISED) and Huju Liu (STC) and "The Great Mobility Puzzle Resolved" by Catherine Haeck (UQAM) and Marie Connolly (UQAM).
