Description

Becoming a supervisor is often the first major transition point in a public service career. The Supervisor Development Program: Virtual Edition (SDPv) offers a practical, hands-on approach to learning the core functions of the supervisory role and key concepts such as leadership, communication, delegation and engagement—all with an emphasis on people management. Participants will learn how to efficiently manage their priorities, time and teams, and how to apply their new supervisory skills in the workplace.

About the program

The Supervisor Development Program: Virtual Edition (SDPv) includes a series of online courses designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge required to supervise the members of your team.

The SDPv will allow you to develop greater self-awareness, learn to adapt your communication skills to people and situations, and demonstrate leadership in adopting strategies to support the performance of your team members. Participants will learn how to be effective in managing priorities while creating an inclusive work environment in keeping with public sector values and ethics. The virtual sessions, are delivered via the Webex Training platform. This virtual journey can be completed in 6 to 18 months.
