Description
In recent years, conversations around the risks of using artificial intelligence (AI) have exploded. Despite the many benefits of AI, many people still harbour fear and suspicion about its use, inherent biases and lack of transparency.
Panellists will discuss some of the key issues currently capturing the public's attention, from the use of AI-driven social media content to foster conspiracy theories, to stories about racist, sexist or inscrutable algorithms making crucial decisions, and how government and civil society are responding.
By exploring the potential risks and challenges associated with AI, participants will better understand how entities such as governments can rely on AI to make decisions that are fair, transparent and accountable. Participants will also get a sense of how they can foster the creation of technologies to help regulate its use.
