Description
The updated Policy on Government Security came into effect on July 1, 2019. The policy is key to protecting information, assets and people in support of the trusted delivery of government programs and services.
In addition to streamlining policy instruments and rules and clarifying roles and responsibilities, the updated policy now requires deputy heads to designate a Chief Security Officer (CSO), a new role, to provide strategic leadership, coordination and oversight of departmental security management practices.
Chief Security Officers are invited to join the discussion of their responsibilities and expectations for this new strategic risk-management leadership role. Find out how it contributes to the achievement of government security policy requirements.
