Zaina Sovani is a seasoned digital strategist and transformational leader with a proven track record of driving change across complex organizations. As the former Assistant Deputy Minister of Transformation and Chief Information Officer at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), she spearheaded a major transformation program focused on enhancing client experience, achieving operational excellence, advancing digital service delivery, and fostering a culture of innovation and agility throughout the department. In her role as Chief Information Officer, Zaina led IM/IT strategy and service delivery, enabling the organization through technology.
Over the past two decades, Zaina has held senior executive roles in both the public and private sectors, earning a reputation as a builder and catalyst for transformation. Her leadership experience includes key positions at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Shared Services Canada (SSC), and the Canadian Commercial Corporation. She began her career in the private sector as an executive with Nortel Networks and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
